David Shannon
This national conference, organized by the Canadian Human Rights Commission, was held in Ottawa from October 27th to 29th. This event brought together decision makers from the government, the private sector and non-profit organizations. It sought to encourage discussion on important issues related to the prevention of discrimination and promotion of human rights in the workplace. On October 29th, author David Shannon addressed the conference. In his speech, Shannon examined solutions for creating a more inclusive environment for people living with disabilities; and referred to his book, "Six Degrees of Dignity: Disability in an Age of Freedom."
