Podium - Lloyd Axworthy


Lloyd Axworthy (the former minister of Foreign Affairs) delivers the keynote address at the International Development Week promoted by the Canadian International Development Agency, Ottawa, Ont., February 4, 2009.

Mr. Axworthy outlines Canada's role in international human rights historically, presently, as well as into the future. He also discusses his experiences in establishing the Ottawa Treaty to ban anti-personnel landmines and how that has impacted the human right to security. After speaking, Mr. Axworthy fields questions from audience members.
