Podium - Monte Solberg

Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, presents a speech at a conference hosted by the Public Policy Forum, Ottawa, Ont., January 23, 2007. The conference focuses on an economic plan released by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, entitled “Advantage Canada: Building a Strong Economy for Canadians.”

Mr. Solberg speaks about developing, attracting, and retaining Canada’s work force to help support the nation’s investments, such as the Alberta oil sands. Mr. Solberg suggests strategies for achieving this goal and refers to government measures already underway.

After speaking, Mr. Solberg takes questions from conference attendees. Jodi White (Public Policy Forum president) makes opening remarks and moderates.
