Pervez Musharraf, the president of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, speaks at a discussion hosted by the Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies in Ottawa, Ont., September 26, 2003. He proposes strategies to restore stability and combat terrorism, including self-emancipation, consensus building, and the identification of the underlying causes of instability.

Also on the program, CPAC’s Peter Van Dusen sits down with Mr. Musharraf to discuss the president’s trip to Canada. Mr. Musharraf also comments on the relationship between Canada and Pakistan, emphasizing trade, democracy, and national security.
