Host Martin Stringer reviews the week’s headlines.

Martin introduces excerpts from a Question Period exchange addressing the length of Canada’s military mission in Afghanistan. Matthias Hoepfner, German ambassador to Canada, joins Martin in the studio to discuss Germany’s military involvement in Afghanistan.

Martin sits down with a panel of MPs to speak about Canada’s military mission in Afghanistan and priorities for the fall parliamentary session. The panellists are MPs Dean Allison (Conservative), John Godfrey (Liberal), Thierry St-Cyr (Bloc Québécois), and Alex Atamanenko (NDP).

Reporters Louise Elliott and John Geddes join Martin in the studio to review the week’s Canadian political developments, including omnibus Bill C-2, the “Tackling Violent Crime Act.”
