PrimeTime Politics Weekend - May 16, 2008


Host Martin Stringer discusses the week’s major political developments with a video panel of MPs featuring Mike Wallace (Conservative), Omar Alghabra (Liberal), and Libby Davies (NDP). Discussion topics include a decision by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) against developing new nuclear reactors that would ensure future supplies of medical isotopes.

Later in the program, journalists Bruce Campion-Smith and Louise Elliott join Martin in the studio to analyze the week’s key political news. Discussion topics include the $30 billion Canada First Defence Strategy presented by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the proposed carbon tax put forward by the Liberal Party.
