Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Latvian Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis hold a joint news conference in Riva, Latvia. Trudeau is visiting Latvia ahead of the NATO Summit, which is taking place July 11 and 12 in Brussels, Belgium.

Trudeau visits the military base in Adazi, Latvia, where he speaks to troops deployed for the Canadian-led multinational NATO mission in Latvia.

General Jonathan Vance, Canada’s chief of the defence staff, speaks with reporters in Riga, Latvia, where he is accompanying the prime minister during his bilateral visit to the Baltic state.

He joined CPAC in 1996 and has covered leadership races, political conventions and federal elections, serving as PrimeTime Politics’ Hill correspondent daily and host of the show’s Friday edition. Martin began his career as a reporter for CBC Radio in Quebec City and also worked for seven years as national and international producer for CBC Radio’s flagship show, As It Happens.
