Public Record - 2007 Conference of Defence Associations Institute General Meeting


At the 70th annual Conference of Defence Associations Institute (CDAI) general meeting, a panel of speakers explore the impact of Canadian Forces on Canada’s security interests, Ottawa, Ont., February 16, 2007.

Lieutenant-General Michel Gauthier (Commander of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces Command (CEFCOM)) outlines CEFCOM’s operational focus. Lieutenant-General Marc Dumais (Commander of Canada Command (CanadaCom)) gives an update on CanadaCom’s operations. Mr. Dumais also explains CanadaCom’s mandate, which involves providing defence for Canada and assisting other governmental departments.

After speaking, Mr. Gauthier and Mr. Dumais field questions from audience members. Lieutenant-General J.O. Michel Maisonneuve (Chief of Staff of NATO’s HQ Supreme Allied Transformation) makes opening remarks and moderates.
