The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs held its 76th Annual conference in Orillia, Ont., August 9–12, 2007. Entitled “The Stranger Next Door: Making Diversity Work," the 2007 conference examined diversity, social cohesion and citizenship in Canada.

This August 11th session, entitled "Putting Diverse Talents to Work," featured Milton Wong (chancellor emeritus at Simon Fraser University) and Alden Habacon (Manager of Diversity Initiatives at CBC).
