Public Record - Testimonial Dinner Honouring Brian Mulroney


The Ukrainian Canadian Congress hosts a testimonial dinner in honour of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Ottawa, Ont., April 18, 2007.

Mr. Mulroney is awarded the Shevchenko Memorial Medal and is admitted into the Order of Kniaz Yaroslav the Wise, the highest honour the Ukrainian government can bestow on a foreign citizen. Mr. Mulroney was in office when Canada officially recognized the Ukraine after its proclamation of independence in August 1991.

Among those in attendance are Ihor Ostash (Ukrainian ambassador to Canada) and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
