Public Record - Mass Communication during an Emergency

On May 3, 2007, in Toronto, Ont., the Centre for the Study of Democracy organized a conference focusing on "Getting the Word Out: Mass Communication during an Emergency.” The Conference brought together emergency workers and the mass media in an attempt to coordinate responses to crises in the future. This session featured Dave Taylor (parliamentary bureau chief, CBC Radio), Donald Low (microbiologist-in-chief, Mount Sinai Hospital), Jeffrey Goodman (president and CEO, Goodman Communications) and Mark Bulgutch (senior executive producer, CBC TV News programming) reflecting on their past experiences with public safety emergencies.
