Public Record - S.O.S. Medicare 2: Looking Forward


On May 3–4, 2007, in Regina, Sask., the Canadian Health Coalition held the "S.O.S. Medicare 2: Looking Forward" conference. This gathering brings together leading experts and activists in what Tommy Douglas called the Second Phase of Medicare.

This opening session examined International Perspectives and featured Uwe Reinhardt (professor of political economy at Princeton University), May Tsung-Mei Cheng (Princeton University), Alan Maynard (University of York, United Kingdom), Arnold Relman (professor emeritus at Harvard Medical School), Marcia Angell (Department of Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School), et Scott Sinclair (Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives).
