Public Record - 2007 Couchiching Institute Annual Conference – August 9 (Part 1 of 7)


The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs held its 76th Annual conference was in Orillia, Ont., August 9–12, 2007. Entitled “The Stranger Next Door: Making Diversity Work," the 2007 conference examined diversity, social cohesion and citizenship in Canada.

The opening session, entitled "Uneasy Partner," featured Janice Gross Stein (director of the Munk Centre for International Studies), Haroon Siddiqui (editorial page editor emeritus at the Toronto Star), and Will Kymlicka (Canada research chair in political philosophy at Queen’s University à l’Université Queens).
