Couchiching: Is There a Mainstream Canadian Culture?
On August 9-12, 2007 the 76th Annual Couchiching conference was held in Orillia Ontario. Entitled "The Stranger Next Door: Making Diversity Work," the 2007 conference examined diversity, social cohesion and citizenship in Canada. This August 11 session, entitled "Is There a Mainstream Canadian Culture?", featured playwright Marie Clements, authors Lawrence Hill and George Jonas, and Zarqa Nawaz, creator of "Little Mosque on the Prairie".
