Public Record - 2008 CDFAI General Meeting – February 22 (Part 3 of 3)


The Conference of Defence Associations (CDA) holds its 71st Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, February 22, 2008. The focus of this year’s meeting is “Afghanistan and Beyond: the Impact on Canada’s Regular and Reserve Forces.”

The first session focuses on the impact that Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan has had on the Canadian army and army reserves. Lieutenant-General Andrew Leslie (Chief of Land Staff) and Brigadier-General Gary O’Brien (director general of Land Reserves) present speeches on this topic.

In the second session, speakers explore the impact that Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan has had on the Canadian Navy and Air Force. The speakers are Vice-Admiral Drew Robertson (Chief of the Maritime Staff) and Lieutenant-General Angus Watt (Chief of the Air Staff).

Following each session, panellists field questions from audience members.
