Public Record - Strong Women, Strong World


The Library and Archives Canada Forum on Canadian Democracy and Status of Women Canada presents an International Women's Day event, entitled “Strong Women, Strong World,” Ottawa, Ont., March 8, 2008.

The final session of the day features a discussion on the theme of women and Canadian democracy. The panelists were Jane Arscot (assistant professor, Centre for Work and Community Studies at Athabasca University), Ann Wicks (national executive director of Equal Voice), and Claire Prévost-Fournier (president of Groupe Femmes, Politique et Démocratie).

After speaking, panellists field questions from audience members.

Sylvie Boucher, parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister and for the Status of Women, makes closing remarks.
