Public Record - Order of Canada Investiture Ceremony – April 2008


Order of Canada investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall, Ottawa, Ont., April 11, 2008. The ceremony honours distinguished Canadians for their outstanding achievements and service to the country.

Governor General Michaëlle Jean makes opening remarks and appoints 43 Canadians to the Order.

Among the recipients are Craig Kielburger (founder of Free The Children), Tom Cochrane (musician and Canadian spokesperson for World Vision and the Make Poverty History campaign), and Frank Iacobucci (justice of the Supreme Court of Canada from 1991 to 2004).
