Public Record - 2008 Metropolis Conference – April 4 (Part 2 of 6)


The tenth national Metropolis Conference is held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, April 3–6, 2008. The theme of this year's conference is "Expanding the Debate: Multiple Perspectives on Immigration to Canada.”

The second plenary session, held on April 4th, examines the role of families in cultural integration. Among the participants are Maureen Bethel (manager (DEEDFRI) of Daybreak Parent Child Centre), Cecilia Manjivar (associate professor in the School of Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University), and Hieu Van Ngo (executive director of the Coalition for Equal Access to Education).
