The tenth national Metropolis Conference is held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, April 3–6, 2008. The theme of this year’s conference is “Expanding the Debate: Multiple Perspectives on Immigration to Canada.”
This sixth and final plenary session takes place April 6th. The panel examines whether or not residential concentration of newcomers is a barrier to social integration.
Among the panellists are Carlos Teixeira (associate professor of geography at the University of British Columbia Okanagan), Dan Hiebert (Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia), and Paul Bowlby (department chair and professor of religious studies at Saint Marty’s University).
After speaking, panellists field questions from audience members.
