The Canadian Friends of Somalia host a conference entitled "Challenges and Opportunities of Nation Building in Somalia," Ottawa, Ont., May 22, 2008.

This second panel examined federalism, development and global security in the context of Somalia. Participants were Aristide Nononsi (associate director, Centre for Developing-Area Studies at McGill University), Shawn Houlihan, (director of the Africa Program at the Forum of Federations and Mohamed Osman), Executive Director of the Dugsi Academy in Minnesota.
