ESOMAR (the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research) hosts a roundtable discussion entitled "Democracy Online: Pushing the Limits or Creating New Frontiers?," Montreal, Que., June 10, 2008. ESOMAR is an international organization that pursues more effective research into markets, consumers, and societies. A panel of speakers explore the effects that the Internet has had on voting trends and its possible impact on the evolution of democracy. The speakers are Kathleen A. Frankovic (the producer and director of surveys at CBS News (New York)), Nik Nanos (the president and CEO of Nanos Research), John Parisella (the president of BCP Communications (Montreal)), and Thierry Vedel (the head of research at CNRS au CEVIPOF, Centre de recherches politiques de Sciences (Paris, France)). After speaking, discussion is opened up to audience members.
