2008 Annual Couchiching Conference – What Knowledge Explosion?
In this first session on August 8th entitled "What Knowledge Explosion?," a panel of speakers explore whether information technology has led to an unprecedented "explosion" of knowledge in the 21st century, or if this is simply a misguided concept. The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs hosts its 77th annual Couchiching Conference, Orillia, Ont., August 7–10, 2008. This year’s conference is entitled "The Power of Knowledge: The New Global Currency." The panellists are Ian E. Wilson (Librarian and Archivist of Canada), Jim Standford (an economist for Canadian Auto Workers), and Janet Rossant (the chief of research at the Hospital for Sick Children). After speaking, panellists field questions from conference attendees.
