Public Record - Seven Years After the Taliban


The University of Ottawa hosts an event to examine the situation in Afghanistan seven years after the Taliban, Ottawa, Ont., October 21, 2008.

Sima Samar (chairperson of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights) presents a speech entitled “Women’s Rights in Afghanistan: Seven Years after the Taliban Suppression.” After speaking, Ms. Samar responds to questions from audience members.

The other panellists are Hossain Ali Ramoz (Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission) and Pierre Beaudet (University of Ottawa).
