The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) hosts a unique round table forum entitled "Securing Canada’s Future in a Climate Changing World," which marks the organization’s 20th anniversary, Ottawa, Ont., October 30, 2008. Forum participants examine how climate change is expected to affect Canada’s environmental and economic security through the lenses of our ecosystems, our energy economy, and our Arctic environment. In the opening session of the day, Bob Page (chair, NTREE), David McLaughlin (CEO, NRTEE), and Pierre Marc Johnson (forum chair) outline what NTREE does and their hopes for the forum. In the first round table, panellists Mel Cappe (president and CEO, Institute for Research on Public Policy), David Chernushenko (vice-chair, NRTEE), Preston Manning (president and CEO, Manning Centre for Building Democracy) and others discuss how to secure Canada's Ecosystems.
