2008 Discrimination Prevention Forum (Part 4 of 4)
This national conference was organized by the Canadian Human Rights Commission and held in Ottawa from October 27th to 29th. This event brought together decision makers from the government, the private sector and non-profit organizations and sought to encourage discussion on important issues related to the prevention of discrimination and promotion of human rights in the workplace. This session, on October 29th, was entitled "Mental Health: Proven Practices of Employers." The panelists disscussed reccommendations for accommodating mental health in the workplace. The participants were: Tom Proszowski (Director of Employment Equity and Diversity, CIBC), Renée Ouimet (Director, Capacity Building and Education Division, Canadian Mental Health Association) and Richard Dixon (Workforce Advisory Committee, Mental Health Commission of Canada).
