Public Record - 2009 Alberta Budget


Alberta Finance Minister Iris Evans presents the Progressive Conservative government’s 2009 budget, entitled “Building On Our Strength,” in Edmonton, Alta., April 7, 2009.

Ms. Evans announces plans for $36.4 billion in spending to maintain important government programs and services and to support continued responsible development of the province's energy resources. Alberta will have a $4.7-billion deficit for the 2009 fiscal year, $2.4 billion in 2010–11 and $1.8 billion in 2011–12, before returning to black.
