Public Record - 2009 Conference of the Canadian Federation of Municipalities (Part 3 of 4)


The Federation of Canadian Municipalities holds its 72nd annual Conference and Municipal Expo, Whistler, B.C., June 5–8, 2009. The theme of this year’s conference is “Partnering for Success.” More than 1,700 elected municipal officials from across Canada participate in a range of workshops and seminars on pressing local challenges and priorities.

This June 6th session features a panel discussion entitled “The Media's View of the Recession, the Election and the Cities and Communities Agenda.” The panellists are Bruce Campion-Smith (Toronto Star) and Frances Bula (Vancouver Magazine). Michael McSweeney (vice-president, Cement Association of Canada) makes opening remarks. Journalist Dennis Trudeau moderates. After speaking, the panellists take questions from conference attendees.
