Public Record - Ignite Change Now! Global Youth Assembly 2009

The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights presents “Ignite Change Now! Global Youth Assembly 2009,” Edmonton, Alberta, July 30–August 2, 2009. This year’s theme is entitled “Youth Building Communities.” Local, national, and international youth organizations work together to create projects and partnerships and learn to be the architects of change in their communities and around the world.

In this July 30th session, Andy Knight (board member, John Humphrey Centre), Renee Vaugeois (executive director, John Humphrey Centre), Lisa Bardoli (program co-ordinator, Ignite Change Now!), and Donovan Young (assistant deputy minister, Alberta Aboriginal Affairs) make opening remarks. Former foreign affairs minister Lloyd Axworthy then delivers a speech. After speaking, Mr. Axworthy takes questions from audience members.
