Ignite Change Now! Global Youth Assembly 2009
The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights presents “Ignite Change Now! Global Youth Assembly 2009,” Edmonton, Alberta, July 30–August 2, 2009. This year’s theme is entitled “Youth Building Communities.” Local, national, and international youth organizations work together to create projects and partnerships and learn to be the architects of change in their communities and around the world. This July 31st session features a panel discussion entitled “Action is Hot, Apathy is Not: Politics & Building Community.” The panellists are Don Iveson (councillor, City of Edmonton), Lewis Cardinal (chair and coordinator, Global Indigenous Dialogue), and Nazanin Afshin-Jam (board member, Canadian Race Relations Foundation). Ilona Dougherty (co-founder, Apathy is Boring) moderates.
