40 Years of Official Languages in Canada – September 9, 2009 (Part 2 of 6)
The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages hosts a symposium entitled “40 Years of Official Languages in Canada: Our History and the Path Ahead,” Ottawa, Ont., September 9–10, 2009. In this September 9th session, entitled "The Next Generation and the Renewal of Governance in Official Language Communities,” academics and community leaders discuss the challenges of linguistic minorities across the country and the next step towards a fully integrated bilingual Canada. The panellists are Nancy Beattie (Champlain College, Quebec), Graham Fox (Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP), Stéphanie Keenan (president, Bang Marketing), and Gino LeBlanc (Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (1997–2000)). After speaking, panellists field questions from symposium attendees. Dominique Clement (University of Alberta) moderates.
