Public Record - The New Africa


The Canadian Council on Africa hosts a conference on Africa–Canada relations, Ottawa, Ont., October 2, 2009. The conference theme is “The New Africa: Redrawing the Blueprint for the Canada–Africa Partnership.”

In the opening session, experts on Canada–Africa relations discuss how Canadians and Africans can develop real partnerships. Speeches are presented by Jean-Louis Roy (president, Partenariat International), Lloyd Axworthy (president and vice-chancellor, University of Winnipeg), and Amelete Bawoumondom (dean of the African Diplomatic Corps).
