Presidents' National Dialogue
The University of Ottawa hosts a national symposium to examine the role of universities in the development of public policy, Ottawa, Ont., October 22, 2009. In the second session of the day, panellists examine the collaboration between universities and government from the perspective of the public service. The panellists are Paul Boothe (senior associate deputy minister, Industry Canada), Margaret Bloodworth (former associate secretary the cabinet), David Malone (president, International Development Research Centre), and Suzanne Corbeil (vice-president, external relations and communications, Canada Foundation for Innovation). François Guimont (deputy minister, Public Works and Government Services Canada) moderates the discussion. Lloyd Axworthy (president and vice-chancellor, University of Winnipeg) makes opening remarks and Indira Samarasekera (president and vice-chancellor, University of Alberta) makes closing remarks.
