Public Record - 2009 CASIS International Conference – October 31 (Part 7 of 7)


Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS) annual conference, Ottawa, Ont., October 29–31, 2009. The theme of this year's conference is “Terrorism, Cyberspies and a New 'Cold' War: Emerging Challenges for Security and Intelligence.”

The final session on October 31st is a town hall meeting on the theme of “Reinventing Border Security.” Speeches are presented by Michael Kergin (Canadian ambassador to the United States (2000–2005)), Reid Morton (former director, CSIS), Alan Breakspear (Canadian International Council), and Justin Brown (Australian high commissioner to Canada).

Geoff Leckey (director general, Intelligence Program, Canadian Border Services Agency) makes opening remarks. After presenting their arguments, panellists field questions from attendees.
