The Public Policy Forum hosts a symposium entitled “Green Jobs: Is This the New 'New Economy’?” Ottawa, Ont., November 2–3, 2009. The symposium’s aim is to discuss the implications of new North American environmental policies on the Canadian job market.

This November 3rd session features a panel discussion entitled “Policy Implications of a Greening Labour Market.” The panellists are Toby Heaps (co-founder, Corporate Knights Magazine), Paul Thompson (associate assistant deputy minister, HRSDC), Grant Trump (president, ECO Canada), and Velma McColl (principal, Earnscliffe Strategy Group). After speaking, panellists respond to questions from audience members, including NDP MP Denise Savoie. Jeffrey Simpson of the Globe and Mail moderates the discussion.
