2009 Law and Parliament Conference (Part 4 of 9)
The Institute of Parliamentary and Political Law holds its third Law and Parliament Conference, Toronto, Ont., November 12–14, 2009. This year's conference theme is “Parliament and Government: Partners and Adversaries.” During this November 13th session, academic researchers discuss parliamentary issues such as the future of fixed election dates, prorogation, and the participation of the prime minister in Question Period. The speakers are Adam Dodek (professor, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa), Gary Levy (editor, Canadian Parliamentary Review), and J.P. Lewis (Department of Political Science, University of Guelph). After speeches, discussion is opened up to conference attendees.
