2009 Law and Parliament Conference (Part 5 of 9)
The Institute of Parliamentary and Political Law holds its third Law and Parliament Conference, Toronto, Ont., November 12–14, 2009. This year's conference theme is “Parliament and Government: Partners and Adversaries.” During this November 13th session, academics and law professionals discuss the inquiry role of Parliament and government. The speakers are Steven Chaplin (principal parliamentary counsel, House of Commons), Paul Szabo (Liberal MP), Peter Doody (partner, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP), Ed Ratushny (Faculty of Law (Common Law), University of Ottawa), and Greg Flynn (Department of Political Science, McMaster University). After speaking, panellists respond to questions from audience members. Kevin Deveaux (United Nations Development Program) moderates.
