Forum for Global Cities – November 9, 2009 (Part 2 of 6)
Panel discussions are held as part of a forum organized by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and the Canadian Labour Congress in Toronto, Ont. Participants in the first panel explore how industries and governments can meet infrastructure demands. Sitting on the first panel are Vic Toews (Treasury Board president) and Angel Gurría (secretary-general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). Participants in the second panel explore how sustainable energy can be integrated into large-scale projects. Perrin Beatty (president and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce) moderates the discussion between Frederic S. Berger (from the Louis Berger Group) and Jean Lemierre (from BNP Paribas). The Forum, held on November 9th and 10th, 2009, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, brought together some of the world's leading experts to debate and discuss the major issues facing cities, countries and their governments around the world.
