Forum for Global Cities – November 9, 2009 (Part 3 of 6)
In the day’s third session, panellists explore the most promising sources of renewable energy and the likelihood that these sources can be used on a large scale basis. This event, in Toronto, Ont., is hosted by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and the Canadian Labour Congress. The speakers are Keith Cooley (the president and CEO of NextEnergy), Dan Hoornweg (a specialist on cities and climate at World Bank Group), Elyse Allan (the president and CEO of GE Canada), Charles Percy (the managing director of Methanex Trinidad), and Robert Manogue (from the United States State Department bilateral trade office). Anthony Haines (from the Toronto Hydro Corporation) moderates. On November 9th & 10th the Toronto Forum for Global Cities, was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Forum brought together some of the world's leading experts to debate and discuss the major issues facing cities, countries and their governments around the world.
