Public Record - 2009 Atlantic Council of Canada Fall Conference (Part 3 of 3)

Speakers discuss Article 5 of the Washington Treaty during a panel discussion in Ottawa, Ont., November 24, 2009. Article 5 states that if a NATO ally is the victim of an armed attack, all other members of the Alliance must view it as an armed attack against all NATO members. The panellists are Michael Margolian (the director general of policy planning at the Department of National Defence) and Eric Jardine (a PhD candidate at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University). Afterwards, panellists take questions from audience members.

This presentation is part of the Atlantic Council’s annual autumn conference. This year’s theme is “A New Strategic Concept for NATO.”
