Canada at 150: Rising to the Challenge – March 27 (Part 1 of 5)
On March 26–28, 2010, in Montreal, leading academics and policy experts from Canada and around the world will participate in "Canada at 150: Rising to the Challenge" , a non-partisan event organized by the Liberal Party of Canada. The three-day event has been described as a chance for "some of Canada's leading thinkers and doers to grapple with big issues facing our country." Safeguarding Retirement Beyond 2017 In the first panel discussion of day two, Ken Georgetti (president of the Canadian Labour Congress), Claude LeBlanc (senior vice-president of group savings and retirement at Standard Life), Bill Robson (president and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute), and others discussed what actions are required to help Canada's aging population safeguard their retirements. Following their discussion they responded to questions from the audience and online participants.
