On April 6th, 2010, the University of Ottawa held a international symposium on Haiti entitled "Haiti Today, Haiti Tomorrow: Contrasting perspectives." The opening session featured Governor General Michaëlle Jean, Léo Mérorès (Haiti's ambassador to the United Nations), and Josseline Féthière (Haiti's minister of trade and industry).
