Public Record - Discussing Afghanistan Disengagement


A panel discussion entitled "Afghanistan Disengagement: Balancing Security, Foreign and Domestic Policy Implications. A Transatlantic Dialogue" was held in Ottawa on May 25th. Organized by The Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Canadian International Council, this event featured speakers from Germany and the United States, as well as Canadian MPs Claude Bachand (Bloc Québécois), Paul Dewar (NDP) and the Hon. Keith Martin (Liberal). Introductory remarks were made by His Excellency Dr. Georg Witschel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Canada.
