On June 9th and 10th, 2010, in Ottawa, The Institute of Intergovernmental Relations at Queen's University and the Canadian Study of Parliament Group organized a conference entitled "The Crown in Canada: Present Realities and Future Options."

In the opening panel discussion on June 10th, David E. Smith, Universities of Saskatchewan and Regina, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Henry Jackman and others discussed the relationship between the Crown and the Canadian constitution.
