On June 9th and 10th, 2010, in Ottawa, The Institute of Intergovernmental Relations at Queen's University and the Canadian Study of Parliament Group organized a conference entitled "The Crown in Canada: Present Realities and Future Options."

The second session on June 10, entitled "The Crown in the Provinces: Canada’s Compound Monarchy," featured Lynda Haverstock (former Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan), Michael Jackson (University of Regina), Peter Boyce (University of Tasmania, Australia) and Barry Cooper (University of Calgary).
