Human Rights and Diverse Societies (Oct 8)

The Global Conference on Human Rights and Diverse Societies Was held October 7th to 9th, 2010 at McGill University in Montreal.
The first session of the day of October 8th was entitled "Critical Engagements with the Discourse of Human Rights," and featured Colleen Sheppard (Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, Faculty of Law, McGill University), Sally Engle Merry (Professor of Anthropology, Law and Society, New York University) and Ranabir Samaddar (Founder and Director of the Calcutta Research Group and Refugee Watch).
