The Global Conference on Human Rights and Diverse Societies was held from October 7th to 9th, 2010 at McGill University in Montreal.
An October 8th session on "Indigenous Peoples and Human Rights" featured Isabel Altamirano-Jimenez (Faculty of Native Studies, University of Alberta), Taihakurei Durie (former justice of the High Court of New Zealand and former chief judge of the Maori Land Court), and Kenneth Deer (secretary of the Mohawk Nation at Kahnawake).
