On November 18th, in Ottawa, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives organized a conference on "Advancing Democracy and Social Justice in Canada—the Next 30 Years." The first panel examined the erosion of democracy and equality in Canada and featured Alex Neve, (secretary general, Amnesty International-Canada), Olivia Nuamah (executive director, Atkinson Foundation), Paul Saurette (University of Ottawa) and Kate Rexe (Native Women’s Association of Canada).
