80th Annual Couchiching Conference

The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs held its 80th annual summer conference in Orillia (Ont.) from August 4th to 7th, 2011. This year's theme was "From the Ground Up: Civic Engagement in Our Time". This panel on August 7th was entitled "Paradox of Open Societies." The panellists were Rafal Rohozinski (Founder and CEO, Secdev Group and Psiphon inc.), Kwame McKenzie (Director, Canada Institutes of Health Research Social Aetiology of Mental Illness Training Centre) and Nathalie Des Rosiers (General Counsel, Canadian Civil Liberties Association).
