Germain Brière Day – Law and the Media (Part 1 of 2)
Germain Brière Day is an annual conference organized by the Faculty of Law - Civil Law Section at the University of Ottawa in honour of Germain Brière, who was dean of the Civil Law Section from 1965 to 1967. This year, the conference took place on September 24th and focused on the theme "Law and the Media." The panellists in this first session were John Gomery (chair of the Quebec Press Council), Judith Harvie (legal adviser for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and Daniel Leblanc (national correspondent for the Globe and Mail).
