On October 7, 2011, the 4Front Atlantic Conference took place at Pier 21 Canadian Museum of Immigration in Halifax.
The conference examined and assessed the risks and opportunities for Atlantic Canada in light of the changing global economy.

In this fourth panel, entitled "Atlantic Canadians doing business globally: lessons learned," participants discussed their experiences with growing their businesses beyond their own borders within the current global economic climate. The panellists were Jo Mark Zurel (St. John’s Board of Trade), Mike Ashar (CEO, Irving Oil), J.P. Deveau (President, Acadian Seaplants), Sherry Huang (Study Abroad Canada Inc.) and Ian Smith (CEO Clearwater Seafoods Ltd.).
